Anyone know if it is still possible to get a flight navigator certificate and if so know anybody that teaches it?
That was the guy who flew the Vickers Vimy replica across the Pond, I believe. The airplane he bought to train in was a C-45 variant that came from the factory with an astrodome.Interestly one of the inspectors told me that he just did a certification last year to a former UAL guy, The process was painful and expensive as the guy had purchased an old D-18 the he had reconfigured with a astrodome so he could do star shots.
The requirements for Flight Navigator certification are found in Part 63:Spooky 2 said:I did this in the B707 and as I recall we needed a 100 hours of student nav time. That may have been through a special FAA approved program that the airline had in place at the time?
