a few questions

1. What would a typical schedule be like at Flight Express

2. How long is training and is it held in ORL

3. How tough is it to get the domicile you want? More specifically, do domiciles open up pretty frequently

4. How many people are in a new hire class

5. What is the interview like and what are the future hiring plans

FE

DL,

My schedule here in St. Louis is 4 am to 3 pm. All the runs here are day time. Early mornings to afternoon/evening. We have all kinds of schedules though from 1am showtimes to 5pm showtimes. Most that I know of are daytime though.

I don't know about the interview because when I came here in Dec. 01 they would just call you to show up for class. Thats good because I'm not smart enough or friendly enough to make it through no stinkin' interview!!

The training is 1 week of ground school for 135 ops, company policies, 210 info, and basic IFR/FAR/IAM knowledge. Then 2 or 3 days flight training in the 210.

Classes have been smaller lately and there are not very many of them right now. Only 2 to 4 at a time and last I heard (1 week ago) we were still overstaffed on pilots. Oops that should be AIM knowledge in the paragraph above. Things have really slowed down over the last 6 months and I don't expect them to get better any time soon. All of the regionals and corporate are hiring furloughed guys and there's tons of 'em so us bottom feeders will continue to be just that. Oh well, at least I am flying!!!! Hope this helps, hang in there,

Jeff

DL,

Oh yeah, training is in Orlando and they TRY to get you the dom. you want but if you don't get it, unfortunately with the slow movement, it is hard to move around very frequently. It's just hard to tell until the time comes. You have to just decide that you want to fly and then do whatever it takes. Thats the market these days.

Jeff
