Hello, Does anyone know a website where I can prep for the FEX written via a website. I checked out Gleim and some others. The problem there is their question bank is around 700 Q's. All ATP's is 392, but you have to go to their location for the exam. I am looking for the smaller bank of Q's. A friend of mine did it over the internet (then went to a test center) but doesn't remember the website. Thanks, P.

I used to work for ALL ATP's. All they due is get rid of the questions that are duplicates. Take the Gliem one and just skip the repeats.

Your friend didn't forget the website, he was just out getting his massage. You will need them also when you get on board. The SO seat is not very comfortable.

FEX Prep

sheppard air has the best prep and probably the best price. Check them out at: www.sheppardair.com

I have used them personally. Very nice folks and will answer any questions you have any time of the day or night. I used ALLATPS the first time and to be honest did not learn a thing and was nervous about the test since they only give you one day to study. Sheppard Air gives you a month (longer if you ask) to study at your own pace. Good luck.

Does the FE written expire? More importantly, will an airline that requires the FEX care if your written is several years old?

FE Written at FedEx

Sorry for the duplicate posts, I just wanted to be sure that the info got to anybody looking at either thread. I could be wrong and things change, but we were told during new hire training that the FE written had to be current within 24 months, not extended by the continuosly employed by a 121 operator clause. From the other post:

"FE written at FedEx
I have posted this response several times on many threads about the FE written at FedEx but at the risk of coming off as a pompous a$$ I will gladly repeat it. I have also tried the search function several times and it is pretty unwieldy so I don't mind repeating answers for folks with questions that have been asked and answered before. That said:

I was told during newhire training that FedEx does not recognize the waiver on the FE written for folks who are continuously employed by a 121 carrier. I don't know why, and no real explanation was given, that is just the way it is. I doubt that you will get an interview without a current (WITHIN 24 MONTHS current) FE written. I am almost absolutely positively sure that you won't be able to start class without it as well.

There was one exception reported a while back for a pilot who was in the Iraq who couldn't renew his written for obvious reasons and the FAA gave him a new expiration date. I'm not sure of the specifics but that was an FAA decision which wasn't based on the 121 employment extension."

Again, sorry for the repeat, and I'm pretty sure this is still the requirement at FedEx. So keep your FE written current (WITHIN 24 MONTHS) and update often if you want to get hired at FedEx.

Best of luck to those in the app process!

FJ

Continous employment would only count if the company you currently work for got an a/c that would require an F/E.

Lets say you work for company A that is a 121 carrier and just got hired by company B another 121 carrier. To go to work for company B you are starting as an F/E and you written is 30 months old.
Is you written still good?
No.
Why you may ask. Well the moment you quit carrier A to go to B voids your continuous employment. Thereby your written is no longer valid.
