I was going to start my Private Pilot and instead of getting a flight bag would anyone recommend buying an actual Flight Case that the real airline pilots use?

Seems kinda big to me, especially if your training in a C152. Plus at that price it would not be a big deal to upgrade later if you outgrew a smaller bag.

I would get a good Jeppesen bag. It will last you a long time.....I would get the hard case for books, but not for flight gear....JMHO

A bookbag's a bookbag's a bookbag. I used my backpack from college to haul around books. And every student I ever had never used their 60 lb bag for anything other than aft cg.

I've got one, but I don't train with it. I keep my books, headset, forms, flashlights and all that junk. I take it on my cross countries, but I use my backpack when I go for any training.

Truth be told, I'd say save the cash and use one of those Cencel style flightbags that are made for private pilots. Trust me. If I could do it all over again, I would. Lugging a big pilot case is unnecessary. You might regret it. Hard to fit the thing in the plane, also.

Don't waste your money on that, it's really not necessary. Cencal makes a quality bad, I've had mine for 5 years now and it's as good as the day I bought it.

That would be too large for a 152, and besides, it would probably throw your CG right out the back of the plane.

When I started my private, I purchased the complete Gliem set which came with a flight bag, in the end, I have used a backpack because I find it just easier to carry and so forth, As stated before it will probably be more of a burden to have the big case.

My flight bag is a backpack. don't run out and drop a bunch of coin. Use the money you save to fly a 172 for an hour or two. Good luck.
