We all know they like to give something, but at the same time take something away. Our 2006 raises were given, but our days were reduced so the raise was never seen. The Den gateway was opened, but Ont gateway closed. Those that work here know the rest.

Our 2008 raises were given with a concentration on the lower end of the scale. Every year that ticks away there are more pilots working their way into the 1.6% side of the pay scale. Also every new Challenger we get another 2.5 captains are working their way into the 1.6% scale. This is another coy way of paying for the new increases. Nothing has changed. I am happy for those that are realizing significant gains in pay. You deserve it. If you plan on being an FO forever or midyear captain it is great. If you want to make Flexjet a place to stay you should take your raise, but keep on fighting. Send in your cards.

I agree that the pay raises at the top were a complete slap in the face to those guys; however, it's not ALL about money here. I mean, once you are making over $120k a year, it's kind of hard to complain about money in my opinion.

To me it's more about getting this ROLLING REST problem FIXED once and for all. It's about getting REAL first day rules. What we have now is still getting up at 3am on the first day--that has to stop. This is a problem that can be fixed via scheduling. Working 16 days to me isn't that big of deal. I think 15 days would be a magic number for us (my opinion). Getting home before the sun sets on the last day is huge for me. Getting decent catering options is a must. And lastly, job protection.

These things are minor details that CAN be fixed THIS year. Will they? Probably not. I mean, it took 4 years to get a new base and when we did get it, they secretly closed another. I still firmly believe we need a union to attain these last few things.

Seems like the pay is about where it should be, though the upper tier guys should at least be getting COLA. One less thing to really negotiate in my mind.

Well said by all. Pay is not the only piece of the puzzle. You guys are definitely looking at the big picture.

Wow. I think the compensation bar for fractional flying is now waaay higher than $120K per year. And you're welcome to your opinion but personally I'm worth much, much more than $120 per year and expect to be compensated as such. For us at FlOps, as well as the rest of the frac industry, it's going to take a collective bargaining agreement to get us there - just like it did at NJ.

I'm happy for you guys at Flex. I hope the promises come true. But if I were you I'd send in a card.

Maybe they could get our pay to where it is for you guys at FLOPS. Just curious as to how much you think you are worth since it is much much more than 120k a year?

So, you're happy capping your potential salary? Once you start spending more money it is hard to stop...

Your statement makes no sense, unless you're serious about wanting to slide to parity with the lowest paid frac in the industry. That would now be FlOps.

I work more days than ANY of the other fracs, and am paid substantially less (heavy aircraft). A NJ Capt, flying the same class of aircraft with similar seniorty, working less days makes $174K in base pay. That would be a good place to start.

I didn't say the bar for the entire fractional flying industry (those are your words not mine). I said for me personally, complaining about money when I make over $120k a year would be ridiculous in MY OPINION. If you think YOU deserve alot more than that, then you'll have to go work for Fedex or UPS because that's the only place you'll make that kind of money in a decent time frame. And just out of curiosity, how much money do you think YOU are worth since you obviously work harder than the rest of us?

ONyourSIx,

I'm not for capping my salary, I'm just saying that I WOULD BE OK WITH MAKING OVER THAT AMOUNT WITHOUT COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO SALARY. Man, you guys need to re-read my post so I don't have to spell it out for you 3 times!
