Oh, and there was a small fire too...

Small Fire Causes Edwards' Plane To Return To RDU

POSTED: 11:11 pm EDT October 29, 2004
RALEIGH, N.C. -- A camera battery caught part of vice-presidential candidate John Edwards' plane on fire shortly after takeoff at 10 p.m. Friday.

John Edwards was in Raleigh Friday for a campaign rally at Dorton Arena.

The battery, in a still photographer's camera, caught part of a seat on the plane on fire.

The plane then circled around and as a security precaution landed back at RDU International Airport. Crews repaired the problem and the plane took off again around 11:30 p.m. No one was hurt in the incident.

The plane was en route to Marietta, Ohio, after Edwards spent Friday evening in Raleigh at a rally that included a Jon Bon Jovi concert.

The visit to Raleigh was Edwards' last campaign stop in his home state before Tuesday's election.

I wonder if Edwards will sue the battery manufacturer, camera maker, seat designer, photographer, etc etc etc?

With maturity like that on the Bush/Cheney side, we can't lose! :D Unless, of course, they change the laws so 7th graders can vote. Keep 'em coming guys, they're hilarious.
