FL commute

What regional and what location would be the best to commute from florida to? Looking to go to a good regional (if there is one) and live at the beach in FL. Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dude, FL commuting is a pain in the a$$. To many senior guys trying to commute out of many FL airports. I did it for a year and finally just quit. I took a local flying job with a better QOL and I am home everynight, like a dream come true!

No doubt, thats the first thing I thought.

I commuted out of JAX for a number of years, no issues except once in a while.

I know alot of people consider JAX as southern Georgia, but the dream is over on cheap housing and land.

Live here, done that, even back in pre911 with ASA, it was a night mare gettng into MCO, MLB or DAB.. Hugh number of Pilots live here and they have senority over you in most cases.. the loads into MCO is almost always oversold, so any open seats will go to the flight crews that need to get home or to work.. just the way it is.... My advise.. dont do it... or plan on buying reg fare tickets to makse the trips...Housing here is off the charts.. but the prices are falling, but not cheap especailly close to the beaches.. GL

I'll second that. This summer was a nightmare trying to commute up north also. This is what did me in and finally gave up. I was commuting out of MCO and TPA.

Just as bad, there is NO easy commute out of FL, thank god Im based at home now!

Just FYI, if you are a DTW-based Pinnacle pilot living in Florida (esp FLL), then your commute just got harder effective October 1.
That's the date Spirit officially closes down its DTW pilot base. Everyone will be based out of FLL at that point. There's plenty of Spirit guys getting screwed over.
