Had my first solo today; 7/16/07.

I feel like I'm on top of the world!! Can't even explain it!

Anyways.... I went up with my instructor first and we did some pattern work. After about 5 landings that I did really well on he said "Are you ready?" So he hopped out at the hangar and I took her up. I did four landings that were full-stop taxi-backs.

I'm flying a 182 and it climbs like a beast as it is. Well when my instructor hopped out of the plane , the thing climbed even faster. I was kinda' expecting that though.

All in all, it was an uneventful flight (if you want to call it that:D). I have a flight tomorrow morning and one Friday, so I'm really looking forward to those!

Alright, I just had to post that. I've been longing for the day when I could start a thread like this!

Congratulations, Joshrk22. You have accomplished something a very small percentage of the population has the opportunity or the inclination to do.

Remember to always remain a "student pilot". By that I mean a student of the art of flying whether you have twenty or twenty thousand hours of flying experience.

Good Job!

Congratulations.

My solo was almost 20 years ago, and I remember it like it was yesterday.

I wish you success!

18 months and $100,000.00 you can be in the right seat of an RJ making $18,00 per year.

I remembered the day I soloed I was getting my senior pictures taken with the aircraft. Any way to make a short story long, that PA28 instrument panel went from a simple warrior to a complex 747 panel. Then I realized I was by myself, well it all worked out.

Congrats! I would have been terrified to do my first solo in a 182. Now comes the fun stuff. Cross countries, radio work, more solo's.
