I know a lot of people ask about getting to the BBJ at NetJets in their career, and the answer is always "No way in hell"...

Just for arguements sake, what about getting a first officer position on it.

I mean as soon as you can hold a captain position on any class aircraft, you will make more than you would as a BBJ FO. So are you telling me that if you didn't care about the money, you still wouldn't be able to bid a BBJ FO position with 10/15/20 years seniority?

Junior SIC in the BBJ is a 1996 hire. There are only 2 planes left and the will not grow. The only out side chance is to be hired straight into a management postion in the BBJ. NetJets had one of them not to long ago.

hmm good point. I'd say if they hired FO's on the BBJ it could go to a fairly new hire vs 10/15/20 year guy. But there are also some senior guys that can't or just don't want to be captains, so they might snatch up the position. Plus, I think there are only a couple BBJ FO's right now vs 20ish captains. So maybe they keep the ratios skewed toward captains in those large aircraft fleets. The Falcon EASy is the same way right now.

Current seniority list shows the following for the BBJ:

Position____# of pilots_____lowest seniority ______# DOH

PIC ...............16...................... 35..................... 1992
SIC ................5 .....................109......................1996

So the most junior pilot is number 109 out of 2500+ now. I wouldn't bet on getting a BBJ slot anytime soon, unless (like be-400 said) you are a management pilot.

yeah, your numbers are correct. so why wouild a 1 year BBJ sic choose to make 60k instead of 130k as a class 3 captain?

i guess money can't always be considered the primary driver for fleet progression and it wouldn't be extraordinary for a 10 year pilot to bid BBJ FO.

Falcon EASy FO went to a 9/04 guy. class 4 FO is only 10k less than BBJ so I guess they BBJ is worth all the hype.
