Did my first three ILSs today at Newport News, VA RWY 7!
Holy Cow what a lot of fun and a lot of work. Ive been practicing these all along on FS2002 but it sure is different doing it for real. So much to think about and react to. Practice Practice Practice.

Just wait until your first one solo in the clouds...

3 days after check ride, I shot an ILS down to 800 and 4. Not incredably difficult, but the worst ILS I ever shot..

You can never practice enough....

You think those ILS's are fun, just wait until you get to do the Back Course 25! I love that one...

Funny that you mention 25. The wind that day was favoring 25 but my instructor begged Norfolk for 7 just to make it easier for me on my first attempts!

You have a nice instructor... :) Those controllers don't always cooperate like that - at least they didn't with me. I just was discussing the other day with some other pilots how they (the controllers) there never seem happy, not matter when you're flying through.
