More to follow on the BS going on Avantair. Have all the scoop right from the source. this company is stooping to new levels of stupidity. Funny thing is, theyre targeting the wrong people. Shows how silly SS and his little pack of nutless minions are.

Union interest cards are in the mail.

Check new message this AM from Curt M.

Looks like the pilots have had it.

Why even stay?

So, two people were fired at Avantair in the last two days. One was fired for "owner complaints." When pressed for furthur details, the pilot was told " That's all we can tell you at this time." The next guy was told he was being terminated for " creating a negative work enviroment." Once again, " That's all we can tell you." Hmm... wonder if they needed more time to whip up some false evidence or some such shady scheme.

Let's go over this. In the case of the first pilot, our friends in owner services have confirmed that there were no complaints. In the "negative enviroment" case, pilots that flew with this person reported no such behavior. Incidentally, both pilots were IOE captains. Let's not forget, any "evidence" that the people running this company claim to have should be regarded as highly suspect. We're not dealing with honorable men here.

Interesting that these two pilots were with the company for almost two years and stuck it out over the time when there was no overtime paid, etc.

Also interesting that this came about over the same time as the union card/letter was sent out. Pass the word along that SS has said, or shall we say, decreed, " Fire anyone who is remotely suspected of being behind this."
Never mind the "Avantair Corrective Policy Form" - let me stop and gag real quick- ok I'm done, phew. If things were so hunky-dory at Avantair, Inc., Steve the Almighty, wonder why a pathetic attempt at a pilot pay raise was whipped up within 48 hrs of the union cards being mailed out. Afraid that while you're driving your new Maserati around Clearwater that some of your "extended family" (gagging again) might be on the way to the US Postal Service with those cards, el Padre?

We should all be afraid for our jobs, gentlemen. I can only hope that nature never calls when one our "mediocre millionaire douche bag passengers" is already waiting in the FBO. That might be grounds for termination. I can see it on the form- " Mr. John Doe, terminated for taking a dump." **** that Mexican food- is what I would hear ringing in my ears in the unemployment line.

Oh dear this seems to have turned into an epistle here. Let me say that I consider the two gentlemen in question here my friends. Let it be known that it's a shame that people who are out only for themselves can eff with good folks lives and get away with it. ( Wait, did I hear SS say he would pay their bills till they find other jobs? Nah, must have been the wind coming over the windshield of this here P180)

I couldnt agree more with ya angryoneincher! Both pilots are well liked guys from all of us. They have helped the company so much and this is the way they get treated!? As we all know this is "Avantair" way of rewarding hard workers!
SS gave us a new salary adjustment but this is not going to help. We are going to take the $$$$$ and still vote for union. Hahahahahah.
I wish DH and EU the best! Thanks for trying and we will do our BEST!

P.S.

Really "strange" since we had a pilot that blew tires, brakes and a couple rims on three seperate occasions and still managed to keep her job until she quit. I guess she had the right qualifications to stay around....the left one and the right one.

I sincerely wish you guys luck in your situation. I have been impressed with Avantair's growth and I hope it becomes a better place to work in the future. Do many Avantair pilots end up leaving for other Fractional jobs at NJA, CS, etc.?

If you don't stand up to the bully on the playground, soon no one can go out to play there. Can you stand there and watch a bully beat up someone weaker just because he can get away with it? AIO, it would make me gag to read their tripe, too.

Am I saying that there aren't any bullies at NJA? Not at all. The pilots just band together--like the London street kids--ganging up on Ole Scrooge. I'm very proud of the awesome job done by the top 1108 Stewards. Thanks to their efforts this nightmare hasn't turned into reality for the NJ pilots and families. Management and unfair practices, too often go hand in hand. When that happens, it's time to hand in the cards!

what Union are the Union cards being sent out for? IBT? If so, is it specifically the 1108 or just the IBT?

If anyone's involved with this, you need to contact a member of the 1108 MEC if you want to be represented by them ASAP, or you'll have a turf war between Don Treichler and the 1108 (just like there was for both NJA and Options people).

Just curious is all, this is news to me.

1108 is involved; they collect the cards and help get the vote process started, I believe. They posted the paperwork about the Options pilots for all to see on the NJ message board---a nice sight! The plan, as far as I can tell, is to bring all fractional pilots under the 1108 umbrella for organizational purposes, but each group would be mostly autonomous. Sounds like the best of both worlds to me! It appears that 1108 is standing by with lots of helpful advice--a tested blueprint-- but the other frac pilots will still be responsible for building their own unions (practically speaking) and electing their own leaders.

A RISING TIDE LIFTS ALL BOATS BUT PADDLING IS REQUIRED
