This came to me as the PR chairman for the 99s. Please feel foreward to those who may be interested. Lisa Cotham
New Orleans Chapter
My name is Robin and I volunteer at the DeLand Naval Air Station Museum in DeLand, Florida. On May 31, 2005, at ETA 1300 hours, we will have a ceremony honoring all of those who flew F-14 Tomcats and veterans. We will witness the final flight and landing of F-14 VF-1010/103 (Bureau No. 161426). We are trying to get as many pilots, crew, Navy personnel, and veterans to DeLand as possible so we can have a proper ceremony. This event is not only a wonderful PR opportunity for all branches of military, but most importantly a day for military men and women to be honored. All branches of military are invited to have their recruitment officers set up marketing materials etc. Also, put up banners in the hangar where the ceremony will take place.
Do you know of any ways we can get the word out. We are working with media (TV, print & radio) but we still are having problems finding pilots/crew/veterans etc. The contacts at NAS Oceana have been wonderful, but they cannot release any names due to privacy issues. Can you post this information at your facility?
I would be grateful for any suggestions and or help. Thank you for your time.
