Hey guys,
I may demo a westwind(copilot) in mexico in a few weeks. Im not sure what the law states if i can be a demo pilot. I know across the pond both pilots have to be PIC typed in the plane but im not sure if this is the case in mexico? I have sic schooling but not sic type. Thanks for the info

The SIC type will be required under IACO rules. My understanding is that it doesn't have to do with actually "crossing", but flying internationally.

Being that you already have the training for the SIC type it should be as easy as a trip to your local FSDO.

Just go, they DO NOT enforce it. Enjoy the trip!
Check PM's

I assume that was joke. You are right, they do not enforce it until they do ... then under ICAO rules, you get an FAA violation for failing to comply with ICAO rules while in a foreign country.

If it was not a joke, I fully understand why you are still a career CFI ...

Does this apply to N registration, I have operated all over the world with non type rated SIC's, including Mexico.

ICAO rules apply in ICAO countries ... hence why there is now an SIC type rating even for N registered aircraft.

Do not do it anymore or you risk violation or being grounded suring a SAFA check while in Europe.
