Fellowship Opportunities in Aerospace History, 2007-2008

The National Air and Space Museum, Smithsonian Institution,
Washington, DC, provides four residential fellowships to support
research in aerospace history: the Daniel and Florence Guggenheim
Fellowship for predoctoral and recent postdoctoral scholars, the A.
Verville Fellowship, open to academic and non-academic historians, the
Ramsey Fellowship in Naval Aviation History, which is similarly open,
and the Charles A. Lindbergh Chair in Aerospace History, an
up-to-one-year appointment to a senior scholar who is researching and
writing on a topic in aerospace history. The application deadline for
all fellowships is January 15, 2007, and successful applicants will be
notified in mid-April. The Guggenheims, Verville and Ramsey are open
for the 2007-2008 academic year whereas Lindbergh appointments are
presently filled through the 2007-2008 academic year. Therefore
applications for the next Lindbergh, still due on January 15, 2007, are
for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Guggenheims are for appointments
from 3 months to a year. The Verville, Ramsay and Lindbergh appointments
typically vary from 9 months to a year. Further information can be
found on the Museum website:
