Howdy Folks

Quick question for FEDEX pilots, in particular the guys doing the MD-11 international runs.

Whats the QOL like on the MD-11 INTL runs versus the domestic stuff (on other equipment) and whats the aricraft like to fly. I've never seen inside or been on any MD's so am interested to see how it compares to the Boeings.

Also, do the 11's go fairly senior for FO's or is it generally a junior run. If you had a choice between say 727(or say airbus) domestic or MD-11 INTL which would you take and why?.

Cheers

I'd suggest you go over to the "majors" forum and run a search. There have been several long threads on this subject.

The bottom line, though, is this: there's good and bad in both the Boeing and the MD flying. We've got heavy crews laying over 72 hours in Paris, and we've got heavy crews leaving at 2:30am for a run MEM to BOS to IND, with a 2 hour sit in BOS.

As for the MD11, it is the best in early 90's technology. The Boeing is like banging rocks together to make fire. Cheers!
