FedEx Pool Question

I interviewed last July and have been in the pool for about a year. I am currently still flying for Air Wisconsin and my company knows that I was hired by FedEX. Background checks. I was talking to our Asst Chief Pilot and he told me that he heard a rumor that FedEx and UPS had flushed there hiring pools. I almost fainted and called Kim D. but she wasn't in. I told him I hadn't heard anything like that but would check it out. Someone with some inside knowledge please tell me this was just a bad Rumor.

not to worry

I cannot speak for UPS, but Fed Ex has never flushed its hiring pool. Nor have we ever furloughed pilots. Stay calm and all will work out.

Talked with KD about a week ago and she said nothing of the sort. She did say all was good in the hiring department and that they are still hopeful for something this year or early next due to attrition and secondaries. She did not say anything about firm dates but did mention the pro-instructor class was going thru soon. We as poolies are in the same boat we were a year ago. Waiting patiently for our turn.

Hang in there.

We are all really waiting. I am patiently (kinda) waiting to upgrade off of the 727 panel, but I know there are many that would love to be in my shoes.

You are patiently waiting to get in the door and out of the pool, but once again, there are many that would love to be in your shoes.

Don't believe any rumors of flushing pools, or any other "nasties" floating around out there. You guys have jobs. It is just a matter of when.
