After reading the OJS rules it said that you are allowed to carry on only what can be taken up the air stairs on one trip up them.

Would jumpseating with skis or a snowboard be pushing it? Are there size restrictions to the carry on? Or does it really depend on what type of equipment you are riding on?
 
Those items have to go in the belly. A pain for you as when you land they may not be ready to unload the jet yet. Better to ship that stuff to where you need it.
