AirNow is ALWAYS hiring due to very high turnover. They dont fly for FDX but hire right at the 135 mins and upgrade to the EMB-110 is very quick. I believe the FDX feeders require a min of 2000 TT. Their nearest 208 base is either Manteo, NC or Williamsport, PA. Best of luck.
 
Any fedex feeders outta San diego (or nearby)?

Can you commute to work (via airplane--airline), or is it a you must be based local type of deal?

There are lots of various runs at the FedEx Feeders...but most follow the typcial cargo feeder pattern. You'll start at an outbase on monday evening and fly freight back to the hub or "host city" airport. You'll spend the night in an apartment with another flier or solo in a hotel room. The next morning you'll fly freight back out to your outbase, then you punch out and spend the day at "home".

This pattern is typical, mon-fri or mon-sat morning. Depending on the run. I know one run where it is tues-friday evenings. You start about 5:00 pm and fly from columbus ohio to charleston wv. You do a quick turn and head back to columbus. You're off the clock by 10:30 pm. That's four days a week! For the right person, that may not be a bad way to make 32,750 a year, to start.

Not all jobs are out based. I am based at the "hub" or the "host city" airport. I go home when my day is done, I don't do the apartment thing.

My run is m-w-f on one week and t-t-s on the following week. No overnights and I fly a scheduled 12 days a month. I'm out at 6:00 am and back by 8:00 pm that evening. I spend the day at a hotel on layover for about 6 hours, then I fly a second leg to pick up additional freight, then it's back to the hub. I then go home and have the next day to myself. Someone else is flying opposite of me...in fact he's a retired P-3 navy pilot, who just finished up at higher power getting his 737 type, looking at getting in at SWA.

That run is not Mountain's anymore until the ATRs get online. We (Air Tahoma) are flying that and the LCK-IND run with our CV-240s right now. One plane, both runs, 10 hour duty day, but only about 4 hours of flying. Every once in a while we'll get a Caravan or two chasing our flight with overflow like used to happen with the F-27, but the trio of Caravans have been spending more time parked at the FedEx ramp than in the air for the past couple of months. Last Caravan I saw in here was last night, but that was one out of IND and it was flying a little bit of overflow from our flight and then continuing on to North Carolina if I remember correctly.

Anyways, when the run comes back under full FedEx control, it'll be an ATR-42 or ATR-72 to CRW and back because we've been almost bulking out our CV-240 (that's a tad under 2000 cu. ft. of space available) and averaging about 7500 LBS of mail.
