I have some serious concerns with today's (7 Feb) "Message Line" in which I would like to hear the pros & cons of this issue. This forum is obviously not the appropriate place to discuss such things. There is no dialogue on the ALPA website. Flying with Captains who are very close to retirement are biased. International flying doesn't allow for those 0200 somewhat coherent discussions in the AOC, and of course I've solved many of the worlds problems over several beers in Subic, SomeWhere (or is it Someplace) Else, or even worse the "trailer." I just thought there may be another message board that I wasn't aware of.
Cheers

Go VFR direct to block rep. Remember--any perceived split NOW plays into MGT's hands. I'm not saying "shut up and color...", but I am saying keep those discussions civil and in a secure area. Might check out our own ALPA boards.

Albie,
I've already replied to my block rep, but one guy does not allow for any meaningful dialogue. I've already checked out the ALPA boards -- nothing. "SPLIT" is not an issue for me, but I would like to hear all sides of the story; not only to make an intelligent decision, but also for intelligent "civil" discussions. I haven't been to work for quite awhile, so I'm feeling like I'm the only one who has issues with this. See Ya.

Hate to say it but there's pretty much no chance of an intelligent discussion on this board.

Before it gets off the first page you'll have SWA/Fo telling us that SWA is better at lubricating the primary financial lubrication nut, and thus we are not as efficient as they are.

Then you'll have the army of disgruntled pilots telling us to take this dang discussion to the cargo baord where it belongs.

Of course before it dies the thread will get the standard pleas for help at FedEx by good guys who are just looking for a break.

In any case, this is clearly NOT the proper place to discuss this issue!

I wrote my Block Rep today and got a very quick response and one that makes A LOT of sense. Keep in mind, in case you forgot (I know you haven't)...

WE ARE IN DEEP NEGOITATIONS

The company is keeping a VERY close eye on this issue to see how money hungry we are and to see how easily we can (could) be bought off. This is just the first of many scope penalities that are coming, so lets send the company a message and let FDX ALPA hang onto it...for now. All good things to those who wait:-P

Now that is all I'm going to say, except for

MY MEC SPEAKS FOR ME!!!

Speaking of which... ;)

Be careful what you ask for, just MENTIONING it could trigger the flood of responses you're talking about. :D

Good luck to all of you!

So, the bottom line is: "shut up and color!" That's exactly NOT what fox is looking for. Good luck finding an honest opinion during negotiations fox.

P.S.--I've had 16 years of ALPA "experience" so save the "union basher" rhetoric...
