will 7000 hours in the DC-10 help, or will I still need the sim?

Hope ya wouldn't.....as long as you've been hand flying a bit lately you should do fine.....recommendation for getting sim time was based on not being D-10 qualled and/or coming from a jet where you rarely hand fly.

The Herc was a hands on acft, but when I transitioned into the 737BBJ my actual stick time went way down....the 2 hr sim prep was a worthwhile investment.

Your sim eval might be in any simulator UPS uses; mainly fixed-base 767, but often they use the 727 and the DC8. A few months back it was MD11 and A300, so the question is - will 7000 hours in one aircraft type help or make it more difficult for you to fly something you're unfamiliar with?

Only you (and UPS interviewers ;)) can answer the question.

So, the real question is, how proficient (or lucky:)) do you feel?
