I commute to MEM from PDX and would like to try out the Fed Ex jumpseat. How would I go about doing this? I know there is a 1-800 number to call, but that is about it. Anybody have the gouge on how to do it, where to go in PDX and is there any parking in PDX if I drove myself to their operations.

I am CASS...BTW.

I commute out of PDX often. You need to register at least 24 hours in advance before you can reserve a J/S the first time so you can be in the system. After that, you can reserve a J/S up to 48 hours in advance. There is no parking for non FedEx personnel at the ramp. You can be dropped off--just tell the guards that you are jumpseating and they'll let you through. I'm not sure if you have to walk from the gate (short walk) or if your ride can go in to drop you off. We are located on the south side right next to the big hangar on NE Cornfoot. When you get to the door, just call the ramp office on the phone provided and they will escort you and "hold your hand" the first time. That's it.
