Has anyone that attended the open house heard anything after the fact? I heard some people were called.

thanks

I went...I was called...on the 20th

Went.....drank the juice, flew the bus, loved it all....got the call Tuesday for a 3/9 interview...can't wait.

I have been here for almost a year and I am still around 70 numbers from holding LGB. I can hold a line in JFK, would have gotten one of the bottom lines in FLL because some senior folks bid reserve (deicing season), and I would be a bottom reserve in BOS. The last bid BOS went to some newbies (low 1700s) and FLL went senior except for one guy in the mid 1600s.

LGB is running around 40% reserves so it will be a long time to hold a line. LGB has some variety but they do a lot of go to the east coast and fly around there for a few days and then come back 4 days later. They have some SMF and OAK turns (their worst trips) and in the summer it looks like they will do ORD turns but right now the block times are too high (winds coming back).

I know of people there that were potentially offered a class in March. If you stood out then your chances are good. :)

Attended the open house. Did not wait in the 1 hr + long line but did everything else. Was called Tuesday the 20th from a recruiter in SLC for an interview 09 March at 8:30 am.

I got called for a 3/9 interview. Does anyone know if they are hiring into both the Airbus and the E190? Thx.

Congrats, my understanding is that they are hiring for both aircraft. I'm pretty sure you are no longer given the option of aircraft it's just wherever they need you. Good luck with the interview, hope you find it enjoyable!

Just to give you guys a heads up on how fast the process is, I went to the Decenber 12th open house, was invited for a Feb. 2nd interview, got the e-mail that I passed phase 1 a week later on Feb. 9th, got a call from a recruiter on Feb. 13th that offered me an A320 class that starts Feb. 28th.

They are filling classes for both aircraft, just depends on your background, I have A320 time and Heavy PIC time in a B737, so I got the A320.

The speed in which you get a class depends on how fast you get through the background checks, I only had my current and 1 other employer since they only go back 5 years, and they both responded rather quickly with the PRIA paperwork.

Besides that, I was still suprised that I was offered a class that fast, in the e-mail that I got that said that I passed phase 1, it said that it could take up to 2 months to get a class, but then again, if your backgrond check go's smothly, then all is good.

Hope to get FLL Base, I am only 2 hours drive from there, so for any of the B6 pilots out there, how soon could I expect FLL as a newhire?

Good luck to you guys

I would say approx. 6 months and you should be able to bid FLL. All subject to change. Good Luck!

I can answer this with 100% accuracy since I just asked Dean Melonas this a few weeks ago. We ARE hiring for both the Airbus and the Embraer. Newhires are no longer given the option. Since the 190 got such a big payraise, it may be a better idea to go to the 190. Starting pay in the 190 is only about 5 bucks less than the Bus, and you can upgrade far quicker.
Good Luck,
bs

Nothing could be further from the truth! Your upgrade in the E190 will NOT come in two years. It will take longer than that. If you were given a choice, pick the A-320. Better schedules / better pay. Once your aircraft lock expires in 2 years you can make a decsision. Which ever seat they put you in when you get hired...you will be in it for at least 2 years.

Good luck to you guys.

...mine is at 1430. Debating if I'm gonna fly up the night before. I could probably be in and out the same day...BUT...depends on when we'll finish up. Any one know how long it may take. I think the girl that called said it'd take about 4 hrs.
