Hiya

A friend told me that because I'm on AD orders as a reservist that my FE written will not expire; it will be extended the same amount of time that I'm on orders.

Does anyone know about this?

Any idea who to go to for more information on this, like who in the FSDO I should direct questions to?

Thanks

From what I remember, as long as you work for a 135/121 carrier you FE written will not expire. While on orders, you have to be employed by a 135/131 carrier. Otherwise your FE expires in 2 years. Th ere are regs that state the qualifications for non-expiring writtens.

If this is in regards to being current for FDX, than no, it doesn't matter if youv'e been working for a 121 carrier or what ever, they want it done within the last two years at the interview, and if you get hired, it needs to be less than 2 years old at your FE Oral.

You beat me to it. I had to "freshen" up my FEX after my meet and greet. If you're outside your two year window - suck it up and get it done upon your return.

Keep your head down and your powder dry.

Hit the nail on the head...

Thanks to all for the responses.

I am hoping for a chance w/ FDX, but don't have any idea when the M&Gs will start again [aside - does anyone??]. Do I understand correctly that you didn't have a current FEW for your M&G, but that didn't impede you and you got a call for an interview? I'm thinking I don't want to take that chance with the extremely competetive state of getting a job there.

Beaker,

I just let it lapse. When I got called for an interview, I used sheppard Air.com And did it in like a Weekend. Downloaded the Software on Fri, Took the test on Monday at a Local Testing center. I was At LTS at the time and still got it done.
