Can somebody help and let me know where I can get an FCC station License. Is this still required I have asked around and have had a lot of mis information

Tks

As far as I know it is required anytime you fly internationally. Therefore all the airlines who do any such flying usually require that as a prerequisite. It is nothing more than sending in an application along with the money. I found a great link yesterday- go to majors....look on the 25th and you will see a post titled "ATA question"-- there was a hyper link to the fcc page on restricted license.

do a quick search off all forums,

one of the threads was talking about doing it through the internet now.

I did that and got mine in the mail a week and a half later, didn't take me more then 15 minutes to do it either.

I might be too late...

Get a FRN number (free) first.
https://svartifoss2.fcc.gov/cores/CoresHome.html

Then go to the fcc website and fill out the form with the FRN
http://wireless.fcc.gov/commoperators/rp.html

Or try:
http://www.fcc.gov
scroll down halfway to "Obtaining licenses" on the left toolbar
"Comercial Radio Operator"
"Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit"
Scroll to the bottom and apply.

You'll get the license in 10 days over the mail.

Oh, I forgot, if you have any problems, call them up and they will gladly walk you through step by step. They stayed on the phone with me the whole time until I was done.

I just got mine the other day. The FCC website doesn't support Windows ME running MSN browser. I had to call, but they were very helpful and polite (unbelievable huh?). I wound up getting my forms by fax on demand. 14 pages of instructions and 3 pages of forms, so have paper in the fax. Very simple B.S. questions, i.e. name, address, etc., $50 and your done.

Took about 10 days. Got my passport in only 22.

Good luck.
