Can anyone tell me why so many people take element 8 for the radar endorsement when it's not required for the General Radiotelephone Operator License? As far as I can tell, it's of no benefit in the aviation industry. Is it just more resume dressing?

The FCC requires you to have the radar endorsement in order to work on a ships / aircrafts radar.

It does look good on a resume also.

I,m happy to say that I just passed my tests (elements 1&3 ) for the GROL and now I'm working on the radar endorsement. My comany will pay me more when I get it.

disregard
