Just a heads up, got this email today.

Thank you for using Gleim flight training materials. Gleim is pleased to announce that our 2004 FAR/AIM is in stock and ready for shipment!

Due to the numerous requests and suggestions made by our customers last year, Gleim is offering its 2004 FAR/AIM in 2 sizes: our original desk reference size (8.5" x 11") and a smaller size (7" x 9") that fits easily into your flight bag, leaving enough room for your charts and other manuals. Each book is competitively priced at only $15.95 plus shipping and handling.

Never used Gleim's FAR/AIM, and I really haven't heard any positive from it. I use ASA's and love it.

Just thought I'd give a heads up to those who do use it.

I'll give you a positive. I had my first exposure to it when they were given out at an AOPA FIRC (although with adifferent cover). I found I liked the format much better than the ones I used before and have stuck with the Gleim ever since.

I was just checking ASA and it looks like they dont have the new 2004 version yet.. I was kinda under the impression that ASA was the publisher for the FAR/AIM, and gleim just's takes the same info and puts it into english :) personally I've never looked at the gleim FAR/AIM but I love own alot of other gleim books and love them.

Does anyonek now when the changes go into effect? The normal calendar year?

The US Government is the publisher of the FAR (reprints of certain portions of the Code of Federal Regulations) and the AIM. In fact, you can even buy a subscription directly:
