FAR 61.58 vs. FAR 121.409, FAR 121.411, 121.441 - Equivalent?

I can't seem to find a straight answer on this one so any help is appreciated.

Does/Do the 121.409 ride and/or the 121.411 ride satisfy the requirements of FAR 61.58 (currency as PIC for an airplane requiring a type rating)?

No it does not, only the 121.441 meets the requirements of 61.58 under 121. 409 & 411 are check airman FAA observstions.

That's what I meant. 441 ride.

I have all these things in my head backwards.

The six month ride is not considered a "proficiency check" is it, even though you do the same stuff?

Maybe I'm confused, but FAR 121.409 concerns simulator use in training programs and 121.411 concerns instructor/check airmen training, etc. I don't see how either reg has anything to do with a six month check.

121.441

This is a full check every six months, some airlines train in stead of doing the PC. The 121.441 PC for the PIC in 121 equip meets all the requriements of a 61.58. The 61.58 is a PIC check for part 91 ops.
