Greetings all!

The place I work at has been on a single pilot FAR 135 certificate for about a year now. The owner wants to go multi-pilot (basic operator) and we need a training manual. I've downloaded some of the examples from the FAA site, I was just wondering if anyone knew of any other places with samples.

Also, alot of the items in the sample(s) do not apply to our operation, such as SIC, Turbine, Single Engine, etc...(we're only flying Navajo's). Does a person delete those sections and renumber the pages, or do you leave them in with a notation "NA".

Regards,
Scott

I recall someone mentioning that the Atlanta FSDO has some helpful info available on their website. The FAA likes to see your stuff conforming to the usual drill, and it is common for them to come up with new requirements for "changes" over a series of months. This might no be so bad with an existing certificate holder who is moving up to the next level.

Welcome to my nightmare of 2 yrs ago. Pain in the a$$. After submitting the manual FSI produced for us, our FSDO rejected it and gave us a computer disk with the FAA format sample program (out of RDU FSDO I believe). Not a user friendly format. Required some questionable additions to Flight Training Maneuvers. Those sections that don't apply label as NA. FAA doesn't believe in streamlining and saving print space. I believe we need to add a SIC training section to ours. Anyone have references to that before I dig into the 8400 handbook?

I think it would be a complete pain in the a$$. I was offered $4000 from a former employer to put together an entire 135 program from scratch for him and after doing a little bit of research I didn't walk, instead I ran in the other direction and had to say "no thanks". It is alot of paper work and alot of hassle when trying to do this. It may be easier for you since you depending on what fsdo you will be dealing with. I would get "friendly" with your poi and go from there.

NBAA has a complete guide that will walk you step by step from day one until completion if you are a member. I highly suggest obtaining this since it is quite informative and as previously stated it will walk you through the process with indepth explanations.

good luck

ps>> There is a company in Denver that will do all the required paper work for X dollars.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies folks - most informative and I appreciate you taking the time.

Yes, it is going to be a pain....

If interested in this sample PM me but time is short this mo. Also there is a company called GLN that produces training manuals and MELs , etc for a cost. I don't think anything else is available for free except from the FAA.
