Fam Rides!!!

Any of you ALPA members out there know if the FAA and ALPA are gonna get the FAM program up and running again. I talked to my NATCA rep and he knows they are all talking about it but I want to know if anyone on your side of the ball game knows anything as well. Any info would greatly be appreciated.

Don't hold your breath... I have heard all the same rumors about the program coming back but who knows. There were a lot of people trying to kill the program pre 9/11 ... now that it is gone it is going to be very hard to get it back.

I was recently told that we will need to have new ID's , the so called "smart card" ID's or something, as far as I know the FAA hasn't even moved to square one on this.

It was a nice program, especially if you were single. 99.9% of the flight crews were great and the one strange one I ran into wasn't even that bad... just a bit weird.
