We have a straight 50 and an EX, and yes the EX is a more capable aircraft. I like them both but the EX can climb to altitude much quicker with the -40 engines, and the avionics package is quite nice - but I like Collins anyway. The company that bought our other straight 50 has already reengined it and gone with the Proline 21.
