Any one out there have have any idea how their respective carrier is going to be affected by the new rest rules starting in Aug.? Is this going to drive hiring?

You mean like how Crewpass was supposed to be rolled out right away. I wouldn't worry about the new rest rules until it actually happens IF it actually happens. You may have noticed that there has been NOTHING said about it since the NPRM closed. The FAA likes the public to think it's doing something and then more times than not does NOTHING which in this instance is just fine with me.

Congressional mandate, its gonna happen wether the airlines want it or not, crew pass was not a mandate. Just like 65 passed wether you wanted or not....straight from the FAA.

There are usually modifications to NPRMs before the final rule is enacted. Therefore, it's impossible to predict the effects yet.

They just have to decide what they'll do by Aug. 1. There will be time for carriers to implement whatever they pass.

Anyone hear anything about new commuting rules?
