From another bulletin board about APA stats....

Avg age of the all pilots - 51.6
Avg age of Captains - 54.5
Avg age of Firsts - 49.3

The ratio of pilots over 60 to under 40 is 7 to 1 - 560 to 83

94% of all the pilots are maxed out on their respective pay scales.

To support my point in the previous post, this is likely a big reason for the safety of flying the past few years. This is going on at all the majors.

just got off the phone with my two senators' office... expressed how important it was that the Schuster Amendment doesn't pass reconciliation and both offices (they had me talk to a staffer who's working on the issue)... told me it's all a "popularity contest" in a nutshell.... there are basically 4-5 anti-labor/pilot amendments that the R's attached to the bill when they took over the house.... of those, they will likely get at least 2 to pass the senate.. the 2 that will pass will be the 2 LEAST popular among the democrats' constituents... so IF YOU HAVE A DEMOCRATIC SENATOR.. CALL HIM NOW AND TELL HIM TO KILL THE SCHUSTER AMENDMENT!!!! NOW!!!! GET OFF YOUR ARSE!
