What's the story with ExpressJet - all the furloughed pilots back? Any word when hiring will begin again?

they have started to come back, I believe the first classes were earlier this month.

we have about 50+ at CommutAir, and the first ones to go back have been given 12/1 as a class date to return.

Depending on who you ask, they could hire as soon as spring '04.

Anyone know how many at Commutair are going back to XJet?

I heard from the rumor mill that the company sent out recall letters and only got 40% response to come back. XJT is so short right now its not even funny....We also have 10000 more flt hours coming in feb/mar. XJT will be hiring very soon!!!!!

More like 30% accepting recall on the first pass. They will be going back up the furlough list of those who bypassed soon and those folks will have to accept recall or resign. They will probably get enough people to fill classes through February. Starting March 1st, our folks on COLA (around 150 people, I think) will be coming back and the company won't need to start hiring until at least April for classes in May.

At least, that's my take on it...;)

VP of flight ops voice mail put out last night said that we'll be interviewing starting in Jan. Not sure what the mins will be, but I'd imagine with the talent thats out there someplace around 1500/500.

and hopefully they'll leave...

the Buy A Job Concept they had in the late 90's behind. Sub-800hr Yeagers as FO's???? uuuuugggggghhhhh..... Many are Ca's now, somehow flying with a guy that paid for his job couldn't be that much fun......or good for the profession...... Same applies to ACA, ASA Comair and a host of other PFT ops....

actually, all of them are captains now. d@mn good ones, too. thank god i have to "put up" with them, and not you.

If I'm not mistaken your Mesa. That SJ program you have is just another form of PFT.

I'm alot happier with our bunch of '800 hour yeager fo's' then the your combination of sc*bs and guys with no backbone to stand-up to the worst management team in recent history. Enjoy the great lifestyle your job provides you. I know my group, regardless of their past, doesn't like to get shafted up the arse. Judging by the vast majority that accepted your junk, its obvious you guys do.

A whore by any other name is still a whore. So fine I'm a whore, but just about everyone was PFT in 97. If you had been marketable I bet you would have as well. The fact that you being a MESA pilot have no right to beotch about anything. You have whore the industry to a whole new level. And now your Nepolianic COE is trying to take ACA down the gutter with you.

McBiteme...

I was "marketable" in '97, i just didn't have the cash to Buy a Job. I interviewed a quite a few places, mainly for practice, because Mommy and Daddy were not going to Pay for My Job. More importantly I WASN'T GONNA ASK! I was smart enough as a CFI to smell a rich kid affirmative action program when I saw one. Paying for your job automatically makes you unable to pass judgement on ANYONE'S professionalism. Not only did you Buy Your Job, you KNOWINGLY enabled management to replace better flying, (mainline). BTW I am at Frontier now and my scuffles with JO's Nazi's are well documented. I didn't vote yes, I sabotaged JO every step of the way, I tried to overthrow a useless MEC @ Mesa and I DIDN'T BUY ANY GO D DA MNED JOB!

No published mins just prior to 9/11.

1000tt and 100me published mins a year or so before that.

Rumors floating about 1500tt and 500me for the next hiring boom.

Also a rumor that turbine time may be a requirement, maybe even 200 hrs turbine minimum.

I wouldn't worry too much, most everyone here now didn't have much in the way of turbine time when we were hired and what do you know, we can all fly jets afterall. :D

Just a rumor I heard.

BTW also heard that the application process will be handled via the Internet by a third party. Guess that precludes "walking" a resume in from now on.

As a reserve captain who's been getting screwed the last two months by screw scheduling, because they seem to always be "out of reserves", they'd better hire and upgrade some more pilots soon, it's not very much fun right now.

Mommy and daddy didn't buy my job. I put the thing on a credit card and only finnished paying for it last year. Only took me 6 years. As for everything else you said...whatever dude.

like i said above.. just from the few posts of yours i've read, i'd GLADLY fly with steve (mcpickle) than you any day.. thank god i don't work at frontier. guess i can cross that one off my list.

you really shouldn't spout off regarding things you know nothing about.. the only fault i find with folks who paid for their training is, they wasted a lot of money. from what i've heard of the days of old at coex, just because they put down the cash didn't mean they made it.. heard lots of horror stories about the training department, checkrides, etc.

besides, this is all in the past.. why are you even bringing it up? look to the future, stop pissing on the past.
