Wish you guys the absolute best of luck.

ExpressJet to drop 30 percent of flights for the fall, citing pricey fuel and overcapacity HOUSTON (AP) -- Regional carrier ExpressJet Airlines said Thursday it will temporarily slash its schedule by 30 percent at the end of the summer, citing soaring fuel costs and excess capacity in the market.Los Angeles/Ontario, Calif., San Diego and New Orleans will be the most frequently served cities following the schedule change, which takes effect Aug. 23. The carrier said it will also continue flying to the other 17 cities it currently serves.
ExpressJet said the revised schedule will remain in place through Nov. 15, when it will be reevaluated. It did not say how many total flights would be affected.
ExpressJet Airlines is a division of ExpressJet Holdings Inc., which in addition to its branded unit operates regional connecting flights under agreements with Continental Airlines Inc. and Delta Air Lines Inc.

XJT stock is also down to $1.75. If I remember correctly, someone offered them almost twice that amount.

Just like Independence, you have incompetent management. Actually, it's more then incompetence. It's so obvious as to what will happen to these companies that these guys should be prosecuted for what they're doing. While everyone else will be out of work, these guys walk away with their pockets lined.

oh surprise surprise the same Skywest guys come to bash XJT further.

The planes are being transferred to the charter department as said during the annual meeting. This is a good move for the company, as it moves aircraft from unprofitable Branded routes to very profitable charter flying.

Relax everyone, especially the usual SKW suspects with something to prove.

who is bashing? I for one (and think I'm like many at SkyWest) hope that you guys pull out of it, do great, and return to your former glory. I hope that Inc. does NOT buy you, and that you all continue to enjoy working for a company that you are proud of and want to see succeed. is that bashing?

All regionals suck, some just get it to the back of the throat a little farther.

I hope that Inc. does NOT buy you

You better hope the XJT buyout fails because if it doesn't, the XJT and ASA guys can band together and force a DOH integration of the seniority lists. I'm sure that the MEC's at XJT and ASA have already started formulating a plan to get the three groups merged if the buyout happens. With the majority of Inc. pilots being ALPA, the SKYW guys might just lose out.

you give alpa and the MEC's far too much credit. They have NO control over whether the (any) lists are merged or not. Those lists want be merged unless Jerry and SkyWest INC. want them to be.....and they don't. And they WON'T.

And as long as alpa still has there hand in your (my) pocket, they don't give a rip about you (me). The only thing alpa wants is our MONEY.

Dude I know guys like you think Uncle Jerry on the level with Warren Buffett, but in this environment pain is coming to your house just like everyone elses. The economics of all POS RJ's has finally whittled down to nil. Given that one of your biggest customers is half in the bag toward a second bankruptcy, I would temper the 'incompetent' management garbage. If you think it's beyond reason that 1/4 of your fleet will need a new home in the future, then go buy UAUA shares now.

While one of the other two customers are moving towards a merger that may be ill-conceived in this cost environment and the other is largely surviving due to $$$ from a party to the same merger.
