Hello all,

I know that there is an Expressjet newhire class on June 12. Does anyone know about later dates and the classes in July?

I don't know about actual dates, but we are hiring through the end of the year now. I am sure someone in class now can let you know the dates if that is what you are really after. Or you could e-mail Angela Barron or someone in HR.

Does Express Jet hire 121 pilots or are they looking for CFI's only? I have about 1800 hrs with 350 of turbine in a CRJ. ??????????

you would be a shoe in, apply on the current or furloughed applicant link though. Good luck

That link is gone. But there is now a selection of "current status" choices whne you put in the pre asessment app.

I applied via the XJT home page; cut and paste the resume and ansewered the preassesment questions. I received a email the next day stating that a position had become available and to complete a pre-screen assesment; I clicked on the preassesment link and was forwarded to a page that said I had already completed it. So...?

If they decide to call you how long does it usually take?

Is the interview the same format for candidates who already fly for a 121 carrier?

How long is training?

Are you paid during training?

Whats reserve like? Sit at airport and wait or is there a callout period?

Are new hires still sent to Newark? If so how long (ballpark) before you can bid back to Houston?

How long is reserve (ballpark)? Relief lines right away?

Anything else you might deem pertinent would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

No idea, it changes all the time. 3 months for me.

I think so, I know they dont divide the interviews into different backgrounds. Might ask you some different questions.

5 weeks of ground 2 weeks sim/ftd 2 weeks ioe

1.60 per hour 24 hours a day for the entire time, just under $1500 check after week 1.

Depends on where you sit reserve. Newark, Houston you might get 80 hours. Cleveland 25. Callout is 2 hours. Youll get a 5 hour airport standby a couple times a month.

Recently a lot of people have been going right into all 3 bases. The ones that got assigned somewhere they didnt want got what they wanted in less than 2 months, usually.

Its about 6 months or so to hold a relief line, that might go up as flying drops off in the fall, depends on base. It also might go down depending on what happens to the 69 planes.

Great place to work a lot of happy people. Great work rules and were keeping our planes with a chance of more growth. I think its the best place to be right now. Thats why I'm here, and if you do get "stuck" here its definately a place I could see myself retiring from if all else failed.

I saw a presentation today about how we'll have 64 new hires in June classes, 48 in July and 16 for each month through the end of the year. Training is 3 weeks of ground and then 3 weeks of FTD and sims. For training, we get just under $1500 and hotel is paid for in Houston. So far, it's been a great experience, and I'd recommend this company to anyone.

Over a hundred new hires in the next 2 months? Sounds like a lot. Is that attributed to capatins leaving and or receiving new a/c?

My guess is they were planing to run a skeleton crew until they knew if they were going to furlough or not. No point in spending 20k on a guy for 4 months worth of work to let him go again. Now that they have a place the planes they will continue to hire to keep more ideal numbers of pilots.

I can't speak for HR...

I had a PC the other day. The check airman told me there was basically a bunch of low time gals and guys getting hired. He made it SOUND is if no one with any decent time was even applying though. He said the washout rate of all the "bought my timers" was pretty high. It would be nice to see some people with actual time getting hired.

I would say apply for sure. What do you have to lose. I honestly do not think we will furlough anyone as a result of the 69 planes.

Thanks for the information guys; I appreciate it.

XJT was my first choice but for some reason was never given an interview; had more than enough time. Maybe some 121 experience will help.

Thanks again.
