I got a call to interview in August and was curious if anybody who has interviewed recently could answer a couple of questions.

1) for the phase 3 interview, do they look at your letters of recommendation??

2) I read all of the gouge on Aviationinterviews.com, and it seems like if flying is not your primary job you don't get the offer to return for phase 4. Are they just looking for people who are still currently employed as a pilot ie. CFI or do they want your only source of income to be from flying??

3) If you are current in the multi engine aircraft that you have been flying, but don't have a ton of time in it in the last year will that get you sent home/ not invited to phase 4??

Thanks in advance for the info, Expressjet will be my first airline interview and I want to be as prepared as possible.

With fingers crossed,
TJ

Thought you were goin to PSA? what in thy he!!?!?!:D

I think they are hiring all across the board but prefer current 121 or 135 guys for some reason. (so I have heard)

tell Dawn-o- matic I said "hello" slick.

good luck

350, what's up Bro?? In all honesty I'm going to whoever offers me a job first. PSA would be a great opportunity, so would X-Jet, or ChiEx or just about anybody else under the sun these days. Beggars can't be choosers ya know?? besides if I'm going to be broke I might as well be flying a airliner while doing it..........

Not much at all my friend, still trying to recuperate from last night's PHL ordeal, that is about it on this end. I told you that sometimes persistence and hard work would one day pay off, it just takes some time...... The first call is usually the most difficult one to get, now they all will/should follow. I am sure that if you go into the EJT interview "prepared" then all should be well. . I am by no means an expert on the company since back when I went through the program Dresser was still calling the shots and things were done much differently than what is currently taking place present day. They even had the ATR's. 120's, and 1900's back then, imagine that.:D

From what I hear from those who have interviewed in recent times is that they are bringing in many with previous 121 or 135 time but they also will bring in quite a few CFI's with no prior 121/135 time so don't loose all the faith. If you go down to Houston with a "positive" attitude and know your stuff then all will be well and you should obtain the desired result. I think the twin time that you have been able to aquire with the 91 company should play into your favor, just make absolutely sure that you know the aircraft inside and out without any hesitation or complications. . Think of it this way, if they didn't want to hire you then they wouldn't have invited you to come down to Houston in the first place, so in reality it is your job to loose. It is somewhat of an "unusual" set up in comparison to most of the other regionals from what I have seen and heard but it is a process that definitely can be accomplished if you do the work on your end and put the time and effort in.

I would not be overly concerned about not flying "full time" presently as long as you have met the recency of flight time reqt's. which I am sure you have. Use aviationinterviews.com and will fly for food interview prep and you should be fine. I am in no way, shape, or form a fan of Kit's little money maker aka> Air Inc. but it may be to your advantage to blow the money and get the more detailed prep on what to expect during the actual technical/group interview. . I am pretty sure that phase 4 is probably the most laid back of any phase. I am sure the current Express guys can elaborate much more on this one. I still can remember that Rosewood room from back in the day, **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** how times change oh so quickly..:D

As long as you meet the minimums that are required then it shouldn't matter at all with regards to how much "additional" time over those mins that you have. I don't think this is really a make you or break you factor when it comes down to advancing from phase III to 4. Obviously the more the better but sometimes in reality that is just not possible, especially in your situation right now. You should be fine.

keep us posted and good luck,

Boy, does that bring back some memories of my interview over 3 years ago. The Rosewood room......being called out to interview in another small dark hotel room, with just you and the interviewer........your fate being decided 10 minutes later.......people being told to sneak out after their 2nd interview, the interviewers lurking around like a pack of wolves stalking their prey..... :D

and......

That famous walking cane that was put oh so gently against the side wall.:D

how times change....
