Howdy all,

I did the phone interview on 2/20 and haven't heard a thing yet! Not even the little postcard I have heard they send that says "Thanks but no thanks". I am getting anxious to hear something.

They stated it would take 60-90 days, and I am getting close to the 90 days.

Anyone else in the same boat as I am? Did anyone get a call after 90 days? Haven't heard any new interviews set up since 4/27 interviews. Anyone got interviews coming up?

Just trying to figure this thing out! :)

THanks,

JR

I did the phone interview about a month ago and haven't heard a thing. About 8 months ago I applied and got a card about a month later so who knows what there doing over there.

Well I haven't received a card yet, so I guess no news is good news.

Anyone now the dates for the next round of interviews? And how long was it from the time they called to schedule an interview to the actual interview? 2 weeks??

Thanks in advance!

JR

Here's the deal guys-

If you do the phone interview and get a post card in the mail it's bad news. If you don't get anything it's good news. It means you passed the first phase. Next phase will be calling you for an interview! It does take a while so I wouldn't worry. I just had someone back fresh from the interview and they said that there were some real idiots there at the interview. If you know your stuff you should be fine. When you go there, theres gonna be a group interview. If you pass that then theres an interview with the HR person and two captains. Then if you pass that theres the fourth phase of the interview with the chief pilot or someone of his level.
In the group interview they will let you out on a 15 minute break, when you come back, be prepared to be given a notecard with a scenario that you will have to answer. It may be what would you do if captain goes below mins or if you just landed at an uncontrolled field and taxied off the runway to a closed taxiway what would you do. THings like that, they will push your buttons and put you on the spot, be prepared to keep your cool.
Good Luck!

How long before the postcard is sent out if you didn't pass the phone interview?? anyone?? anyone??

phone interview

Check your email....................I did the phone interview and got an email the next day saying thanks but no thanks.....what are they looking for in the phone interview???

Emails??

Flyguy34,

Do you remember what the email had under the subject?? I get so many junk emails..I didn't even think about getting an email from them for that..I thought they still sent out the postcards.

Hang in there guys....

This F'd up interview process is run by a bunch of HR bone-heads.

Pre 9-11, it was run by a bunch of great guys and gals (line pilots). Everybody can't understand why we just don't go back to the old, efficient, effective process.

If you make it through all the B.S. they are dishing out now, you truly have some patience.

The interviewers are not indicitive of the pilot group. The pilots here are a great group of people. Good luck!

When I went down there to interview, the interviewers were just fine. Seems like they were nice people in love with aviation, and that's all that matters.
They were tough on guys who didn't have all the paperwork sorted out. I know, I LOATHE paperwork too! If they are going to be super-critical on paperwork, then ask questions of the HR people before you get there, and don't be shy about it. They don't care.
When getting flight time numbers sorted out, match 'em up with your logbook, grid, and resume. MAKE SURE THEY ALL MATCH. Take your scratch-math paper with you, so you can show them what you did if they perceive a mistake. Better yet, use an electronic logbook.
Don't log SIC time for aircraft that require only 1 person (they were big on that). Look over aviationinterviews.com for past interviews, and you should be good. Oh yeah, study the ATP oral ASA book, they get lots of questions from it. It's a good book to have anyway.
If you have MORE free time, look at Richie Lengel's book "everything explained for the professional pilot." Well worth the investment. Best of Luck!!!
