Is it just me or does anyone else notice the guys with 600 hours get callbacks within a week and the guys with 1500-2000 get a call in 5 weeks. What's up??

It's all about who you know man.... If you know anyone that works here have them email the Director Of Flight Ops. He'll get the ball rolling quite a bit faster.

Do you have a second job other than flight instructing? I've been told by a few people at XJT that if you have another job, they frown upon that like you're not fully commited to flying or something. Did you get the call the send your resume in and then got the email saying you're not qualified even at 1500hrs?

I have to laugh at this thread. I applied with XJT many times as a flight instructor and finally got a call from them about 6 months later after I was flying for a 135 operator. I then faxed them my resume (as requested) called to follow up on it and a snotty woman replied to me that I would be hearing from them and not to call. Few days later I got an email stating that I didn't "meet the hiring criteria". This was back when it was 600/100 and I had about 1700/500.

Flew with a Captain the other day who had someone walk his resume in years ago at XJT, got a call from HR then never heard anything back. His friend there did a follow up for him as to why he wasn't being called...HR said they didn't like the way he "talked on the phone".

Maybe I just hear bad things, but it sounds like this company has a little bit different ways of finding "qualified people".

BTW the Captain I know that didnt' get the interview at the time was flying a Falcon.

Best of Luck.

Yeah, it is all about who you know... Just make sure that someone that tells you that they know someone actually does know someone and will actually help you and is not feeding you crap...

Is it possible that they may be preferring lower time guys knowing that guys with lower time will have to stay there longer than say, the high time guys, who can meet the mins for a major quicker?

I'm wondering if this is why the mins everywhere are plummeting.
