Positive/negative? What are the requirements (if any) in terms of flight time, and does it pay anything?

No flight time required. Just get the AGI/IGI/BGI (whatever is applicable) and do it.

Money? Couldn't tell you.

Don't really like it much compared to actually flying with a student--I find that much more satisfying. After a ground school session I would just feel worn out, even after a good one. But then again, it beats flippin' burgers.

That's sorta what I'm doing now--teaching classes part-time at a community college. Aviation weather and navigation. These courses are in addition to the private pilot and instrument ground school courses. Having a separate class, especially for weather, allows us to cover things in greater depth and offer more practice at reading and interpreting the various weather products available these days.

I enjoy it, though by itself it doesn't pay the bills. My school pays around $750/credit hour/semester if there are at least 10 students in a section, less if there are fewer students. Still, it's fun--sometimes a classroom makes a better classroom than a cockpit. Sometimes.

its a great way to establish contact with potential students and a chance for you to be seen as well versed motivated instructor...LOL
