Just saw an ad in ADN for Everts air cargo in ANC. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the company [sched, pay,QOL, etc...].

Also curious about Northern Air Cargo in ANC - same questions.

I'm old [42] so I'm am looking for long term employment opportunies in ANC or FAI.

Any chance of a guy with about 2200tt and 100 multi getting on at either place?

Thanks,
Brian

Was the add for pilot positions? Everts Air Cargo has a hub in ANC flying C-46's, DC-6's and just bought two ex-SKW Brasilias. I don't know how pay is, but I do believe they work a lot! Long days is what I hear.

Jumped on NAC the other day and I guess they just layed-off 16 pilots?

Yep..it was an ad for pilots. I hate to hear about the furloughs at NAC, they were near the top of the list for possible long term employment.

Since it sounds like your up there...any idea about the status of Penair and ERA? From what I know they sound like decent long term employers.

Thanks

Era and PenAir both have life employees who are happy. The pay is about the average regional pay. At Era you top out around 80K a yr and PenAir is probably similar. It takes a bit of work to get on with either carrier but can be done. Let me know if you need more info.

Vicious rumors!

Wow, somebody was pulling your leg my friend! Or maybe a simple misunderstanding....?

There have been no furloughs at NAC recently. I just checked and confirmed this.

However, they have had two pilots resign in three months. ;)

Fly safe.

Sorry Mar,

Forget who told me, heard it from a captain I flew with I believe. Guess just another rumor.........

Hey Mar and ILSto Mins

Hey Mar......by any chance are you with Everts? I'm trying to find out the basic question on them [pay, sched,QOL]. Any info would be appreciated.

ILStoMins...thanks for your help, the EMB120's are news to me - good info.

Brian

What would the internet be without rumors?

ILStomins--No problem man, no skin off my nose. I think you were probably just the victim of some pitiful bellyaching by a grumpy captain. Let me guess, he was a jet capt and not a -6 capt...

Airspeedalive--you need to send Asquared a PM and get the gouge from him. I used to fly at NAC. Asquared is a current Everts pilot.

T-gates--Bingo. ;)

That bit about "round" airplanes ain't no BS neither. I've got some time in the old Shorts Skyvan, aka the flying shoebox.

The Irish should've kept to making whiskey and music.

Peace bros.

From one Shed driver to another....congrats!!

Era just got sold and the fixed wing Alaska division is supposed to be sold again! Probobly not a solid career choice!

At 11:59 PM EST Era is officially sold. Also, the 2 Convairs are grounded on the 31st. Don't know what to think of the whole sale thing? I've been optimistic, but hard to stay that way..........

Has anybody been hearing anything else out there?

If you like to be treated like $hit its a good place to work. If you like to risk your life, a good place to work. If you like to work with No schedule and not see your home very often, a good place to work. Every day is like a sim ride so you do stay sharp. Only 27 engine failure's last year ( only one fell off an aircraft) with a fleet of 12 aircraft. Not bad. Do you like the middle east ? a good place to work. Maintenance ?????? Whats that??? Need I say more?:p

Working in Alaska is tough. I'd love to fly a DC-6 or C-46 just to say I've flown one of those oil guzzlers. ;)
