I always understood that the way European Airlines worked was this (for non-military pilots). You go through a very rigorous interview process that tests spatial ability as well as intelligence. Then you get various exams and tests as well as a rigorous medical. Once they are satisfied you will pass training then they pay for you to get your basic commercial training(but to JAR standards). After thats it's type school, initial indoc and then a few years as F/O. So there is no PFT at the really reputable carriers (i.e. BA, KLM, Lufthansa). Is this true? If not what is the typical career track for a European airline pilot. What about parts of Asia? India?
