Anyone have a good phone number to get through to the FAA's Airman Certification Branch (AFS-760) in OKC? The phone number my local FSDO gave me took me into Voice Mail Hell, never did get to talk to a real person. I recently got a Type Rating and though it was correct on my Temp, they screwed it up in OKC and got it wrong on my new permanent license. I was a little pissed off that the FAA did not put any phone contact info on the little piece of paper in the envelope with the new license, especially after I found out that the Airman Certification Branch apparently has an approx 18% error rate on newly issued Airman Certificates. Yep, that's right: about 18% of the pretty new little credit card style FAA certificates that go out the door have some mistake on them. Can you imagine an FAA approved Repair Station or a 135 operation having an 18% error rate on THEIR paperwork? The FAA would probably revoke their certificates with that huge a paperwork error rate. But for Airman Certification Branch, with that high an error rate, they can't even put contact info in with the new licenses, so that if there's an error, you can contact them easily to get it fixed.
 
I have a similar issue, renewed my CFI through an online deal, temp was OK but when the permenant cerfiticate came...well...oops..

Anybody know if the FSDO can re-issue a temp with the proper info??

Yes, I have called and corrected several certificates with mistakes from OKC. It takes about an hour while the Regrestry looks up the record and it is mailed to the Airman for free.
