Hello,

Recently I was hired by Eagle and have an upcoming class date...I'm interested in flying jets; as a result of my age, I'm likely to be at the top of the class in terms of seniority. Which of these two jets (ERJ or CRJ)will be the best one to go with? Is one easier\more difficult than the other? Any advantages in choosing one over the other?

I think more specifically youll chose between the CR7 and the ERJ145. Not exactly an even fight. From what ive heard about the 700, id take that if all other things were even (reserve time, lines, basesetc)
 
You will hold a line faster on the CRJ, because all the EMB FO's are not going to bid it (14 month seat lock and no pay raise.) As far as training I think the CRJ is more computer based training then the EMB, but you should be able the get a study guide before hand. Do the base is going to be your main concern. Looking a few years down the road the CRJ will be mostly ORD with a small DFW base. If Eagle opens any new base (MIA,RDU) it will be in the ERJ.
 
Not now, but with 4 aircraft a month or 80+ aircraft coming in the next 2 years I would expect to see MIA or RDU. THe company can't put to many more in ORD,BOS,LGA, all are slot controled or maxed out on space. We are doing more SE USA flying. I would put my bets on MIA over RDU.
 
I'd pick the CR7 if you have a choice. Either way, you get to fly jets - that is a step in the right direction.

Let us know which one you get.
 
I'd go with the CRJ. The FA's can brew fresh coffee on those.

It depends on where you want to get based. Pay is the same, but if you get the CRJ you can only go to two bases. The ERJ is at every base except MIA and SJU.
