Well...my job search continues. Anybody know what the schedule and life are like for an FO in the F27 at Empire Air out of Spokane WA? Any recent interviews and info would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings,

The life of an F.O. at Empire is not half bad-You usually don't work too hard while making decent money for a F.O. Some of the runs that we have are very long-such as SEA-JNU, and some are very short. If you get stuck on a short run, it can be really hard to build time. It is hard to say how long it takes to upgrade is- a lot is hinged on the transition to the ATRs that the company is involved in, which is taking a lot longer than expected.

Good Luck!

For a regional airline Empire isn't too bad. We're in a transition period right now awaiting the arrival of the ATR's. Once they are on line things are supposed to pick up (upgrades, hiring, increased routes, etc.) The longer runs particularly out of SEA are great time/experience builders. The base you're hired into isn't neccessarily the one your stuck with. We bid for bases instead of bid lines. When you are awarded a base you fly the trip or trips out of that base. As Tsky said some are very long, some are very short. Once you're online you can pretty much decide if you want to work a lot or a little. Pay is slightly higher than industry standard. Hope this helps.

empire

CWA runs Monday night through Friday morning to Rochester.

Empire

At Empire are you (or can you be) based in Seattle? Also, how does one go about applying?

Thanks!

The CWA run is fully staffed right now, but things can change fast. Seattle is the biggest base. We serve SE Alaska out of SEA and we also have a YVR - OAK run that is crewed by SEA pilots. Check out www.empireair.com for hiring/applying info.

What's the pay and QOL like for a 208 Captain at Empire? Can you get hired right into the van?

Last I heard was the mins for 208 CA...2000 hours. I don't know if that's total time or total pic. I would assume that's pic.
