I just came across a video from Chicago Tracon that shows the radar tape as well as the audio tape for an emergency that happened several years ago. I believe it was a runaway trim on an Eagle E135. It shows the controller vectoring this aircraft as well as vectoring other aircraft out of his way.
The link for the video can be found about half-way down the page below.

Wow......that was kinda cool to see. Glad everything worked out for the crew!

Anyone know why runaway trim couldnt be handled more easily on this airplane? Musta been pretty bad.....they were all over from 7000 to 2600.....
controller was very helpful. Great job on all parts

Word was that the center of pressure on the elevator with a certain trim setting and weight would render the trim motor useless as the down force was greater than the strength of the motor, at least that's what I remember. Now the trim must be readjusted soon after takeoff before accelerating to avoid overloading the motor. They may have also changed the motor.

Anyone else have a better memory?

Was there ever an official FAA report such as a SDR or somesuch? Or a pilot account?
Would be nice to hear what the details were.

In a nutshell, the stab trim motor may not be able to move the trim tab at high airspeeds.
