I'm considering the ERAU Master of Science in Management program. There is an ERAU office close to home where I can take actual classes, and I can also take classes online for marginally higher cost per credit hour.

Has anybody else done a graduate degree from ERAU via Worldwide Campus and/or Distance Learning (online)?

I've heard quite a few good things about the Indy ERAU stuff. Can't really put you into contact with anyone though who knows more, just talking to random ATA pilots a few years ago.

I'm currently doing the MS in Management through online distance learning.....it is not too bad as long as you are able to keep yourself on track....if not it can be real easy to get behind. Some classes and distance learning professors are easier than others. If you are the self-driven type, the distance learning is a good way to go. If you need some help to keep you on task, I'd recommend the actual classes through the extended campus.

Hope that helps.

I'm doing the MS Management program through Distance Learning right now.

The biggest differences between the online and classroom stuff is that the online is a 15 week semester and classroom is an 8 week semester. In the classroom, you sit there for 5 straight hours once per week. The cost per credit hour is higher for distance learning than classroom. The graduate course offerings in the classroom are quite limited. My nearest campus only offers one class per 8 week semester.

If you can read (and learn) from a textbook, and/or you can't make it to class every week, distance learning ain't bad. I can't stand sitting in a classroom for 5 hours (and the nearest campus is 40 miles away) so I did the online thing. I have few complaints about it. One other thing about online -- since you have 15 weeks to do what you would otherwise do in 8, your workload every week isn't terribly difficult.

The other plus side to graduate work -- one class makes you a "half time" student, which is important when trying to get your undergraduate student loans differed :)

How demanding is it to keep up with classes?

It depends alot on the class. Some of the basic management classes have fairly light work loads and a few others (statistical analysis type stuff) are pretty intense. If you have a fair amount of free time in your schedule, it isn't too bad. I'm working on mine while on shore duty, so I usually have plenty of time during the day to knock it out.
