I am an airline pilot and was just surfing the net and came across this Embry-Riddle Capt website. I think my head must have hit the ceiling when I read this load of crap they are promoting. Please someone else give me the thoughts on this program. It costs $80,000 to turn around and make an intial salary of probably 20,000 for the next 2-3 years. I need to get in on this scam as well, hell I have a better one I will check you out as a FO in a Cessna 152 for 10,000.

Yeah, I think there's been some extensive bashing of the CAPT program on this website. Bashing which, I might add, is totally deserved.

PFTers... They can be so smug sometimes. But it's a false sense of security. You're way better off in the long run to get your time built by other methods.

Don't forget Bobbysamd,

250 hours of that 500 hours is logged back seat observer time. Only 250 of the other is actually stick time. ERAU is actually telling these guys that back seat time is as good as PIC stick time and should be included in your total hours when applying and logging. At least it will provide the HR dept with a good chuckle.

That's rich.

Isn't there some school in Arizona that pulls the same thing? I.e., two multi students in the front logging time, with the MEI in the back seat logging total, multi, instruction given and PIC, because the regs permit instructors to log PIC for all time they are acting as instructors.

They can log deadhead time after they are hired with 500 hours. Logbook remarks section reads "SIC logged in seat 12B, very beautiful scenery and loud crying baby and note to self--defer loans for 10 years"
