I read on Embraer's website the EMB-170 received final FAA certification Friday and deliveries we're to start asap. Any ideas whos getting em? I know US Airways Express has some coming, anyone else?

Also, any of you guys know what routes they will be operating on? I'm flying out to the east coast this summer and plan on booking at least 1 EMB 170 in the itenerary.

The word I got from the some members of the USAirways MEC (I'm attending the ALPA Leadership COnference this week) is that the aircraft should be on property in March with proving runs starting third week. However, apparently the sim has some issues since there a few items that the sim simulates diffrently than the aircraft hence puts the types by guys already have in jeoperdy. Haven't heard what the FAA is doing about it.

Jet Blue will be getting I believe the 190. My buddy flies the A320 and stated they have a firm order of 100 of them. Don't know when those will be on line.

look for chataqa to be the largest e170 airline with jets at united, usair, and possibly delta...rumors have the stl aa stuff coming to an end

This is scary. RJs are beginning to look more like mainline. All the while Mainline pay is beginning to look more like regional.

I know, I know, welcome to last week.

Look for new Svc from ATA and Spirit...
Look for new DCA service from CHQ, Spirit, Colgan, and ATA

CHQ DCA-CMH and IND
Colgan DCA-CRW
Spirit-DCA-FLL
ATA DCA-MDW

NOW TRUE

I predicted the announcement of an LCC going Intl a couple of months back. Here's my 'guess' on the new planes;
Because this a/c really does look and feel like one of the big boys, you'll see the companys' use of them grow like wildfire.
Here's the twist. The feeders won't get any. Only the LCC's and one or two legacy will have them. On the plus side, the LCCs' will start hiring like mad from the feeders', while the legacys' will spend many years syphoning through their furloughed staff. Pay will be slightly lower at the LCCs', but still much higher than feeder pay. While Legacy pay will be lower than even the LCC's.
Eventually, they will meld into LCL's-Low Cost Legitimates

Here's the twist. The commuters won't get any! Only the LCC' and one or two legacy will have them. On the plus side, the LCCs' will start hiring like mad from the commuters, while the legacys' will spend many years syphoning through their furloughed boys/girls. Pay will be slightly lower at the LCCs', but still much higher than commuter pay. While Legacy pay will be lower than even the LCC's.
