5 yr EMB120 Capt at Ameriflight base pay is $4150/month, plus any additional flying over the bid line plus a 5% annual retention bonus. I will guess they net about $55K/year typically. They only have 3 EMB120's right now, all CVG domicile. The pilots rotate a week off, I think it is every 4 or 5 weeks, not sure. Positions are first offered in-house by an open-bid awarded on seniority. The EMB First Officer positions usually go very low seniority, and sometimes they have to go outside the company. That pay is $1955/month first year. Upgrades are sporadic, given such few planes.

EMB-120

I would like to know who is hiring into the EMB-120? I have a ground school at my local college and know the plane to an extent.

pay scales

couple of things to remember for any startup operation.

we operate alot of EMB-110's
the difference in the 120 is clear of course but you also have a ton of parts out there for them given how many were built.

we have seen a DIRECT effect in operating costs in relation to piulot pay. not in financial sense but in how long the pilots STAY. the longer they stay the cheaper it is to operate the aircraft and keep it online.

a well paid pilot is a very happy pilot. and the longer you can keep that pilot around the less abusive to that aircraft the pilot is. new pilots are always tearing up equipment cause theyer not comfortable with it and cannot 'FEEL' the equipment. they overtemp and overtorque engines. they sideload the nosegears and break seals, the melt the windows leaving the heat switches on....etc. take one very very good look how that pilot treats the equipment, dont just ask him/her. any damage is always an accident of course. honestly it is. but youll have much fewer accidents of that sort if you keep the pilots around.

for us, one 3 year e110 captain may make 3000/mo puls mileage and perdiem <so 3500 well say/mo.>..thats 42k

pay 42k to that guy or pay a junior guy alot less and train him in the plane. that costs 42k that first year right there plus the damage on the plane for that first year too.....thats the big issue.

so pay them to keep them around. your e-120's gearboxes and CT discs will thank you.:D
