good or bad?

im bored plus im curious to see what people think about this

btw is it Effect or Affect? im stupid

Effect because it's used as a noun.

Major Mergers will be required to give up gates, slots etc... If Delta merges with say, NWA, I would guess Cincinnatti (example) would become a large asset for someone like AirTran, Southwest, etc...

I feel that the rj's have a larger EFFECT on the lcc's

There are nearly 1000 37 and 50 seat rj's that will be pulled out of service over the next 10 years.

For example delta pads other airlines routes with rj's historically this has been a move to steal just enough competition to make the competitors routes less or non profitable. Now with high gas prices it is more of a loss for the rj's.

In the short term i expect to see many opportunities for lcc's,, Cincinnasti for example has always been a stronghold with some of the highest prices in the usa. The DOT knows this and I would expect CVG to be one of the first cities on the chopping block.

Maybe a successful merger will give the combined airline the vision that it is about making money and not taking over the world.
